HOLIDAY TIME.

pictures from our holiday card photoshoot

we are still down in san diego visiting family, extending our stay a little longer than usual and it’s nice to be able to have a few extra days of relaxation after the busyness of thanksgiving.  sometimes the holidays can feel like a game of tug-of-war (especially now that we have a little one)…

where you’re supposed to be, who you’re supposed to be with, how you’re supposed to get there…

and the stress of planning and making these decisions can become all consuming, making us lose sight of what the holidays are truly about.

for some reason this year, it seems as though christmas came early, the lights and decor up in the stores a few weeks earlier than in years past.  the urgency and intensity of christmas shopping up a few notches than what i can ever remember.

the holidays are my favorite time of year, where everything seems to have a bit of magic to it,

and so as the world whips into a whirlwind around us,  i think it’s important to remind ourselves in the upcoming weeks what the holiday season is all about:  love, family, friends, and all the things we have to be thankful for in our lives.

I love Christmas, but it always feels as if you need to split ourself into half a dozen pieces to make all of the family happy. Love Holden’s oufit, have a thing for bowties on my little man as well.

I know exactly how you feel! I felt that way at the beginning of the Thanksgiving break when we were making our travel plans and I really want to try and not get stressed about the holidays this year :)

Thank you so much! That honestly means so much to me! We luckily happened to catch the sun at the perfect moment.

These photos are so cute! So glad you guys extended your trip to relax a little more, it’s so important. Plus you probably avoided the major traffic we sat in on Sunday coming back from the holidays! Yikes!
