i kind of wish i was that perfect housewife.  you know the one that has gourmet meals waiting on the table upon her husband’s arrival home from work.  the one that goes grocery shopping on a regular basis and always has the refrigerator and pantry stocked with healthy snacks.  the one that keeps up with the laundry so that the hamper is never full and the clothes are always folded and put away in their proper place.  the one that cleans the house daily so that it is always spotless with no stray toys for you to step on at night.  you know, that person?  well, 19 months into this whole motherhood thing, i’m still trying to figure out how to juggle it all.  i’ve decided to start trying a little harder on the whole keeping the household together thing (because that always seems to come second to well, everything haha) so yesterday i meal planned, went grocery shopping, cleaned the entire house, finished (and put away!!!) the laundry, and currently have this cooking on the stove.  feeling like this just might be the start of a new me.

Kudos to your productive day! I wish the same thing! And I don’t have any children, ha.
    I’m working on it though!

Heh, you have no idea how much I relate to that. My mom always made everything from scratch, and she homeschooled us, and she took us to sports and music lessons and church…I thought the perfect housewife also made gourmet meals from scratch and kept everything clean and looked fantastic everyday, so I very often felt like a failure. And I hated cooking when I first got married…I’ve come a long ways from those high expectations and I even enjoy cooking a little now!

I like to think those perfect housewives were just a myth. I have no idea how anybody can do all that every day. With 2 kiddos at my home, the toys are never ending. Just when I thought I had picked them all up, different ones re-appear. I am a newly stay at home mom, and one of the most common comments that I receive is: now that your a stay at home, have you started cooking? And the answer I always give is… nope. It’s just not in me to have a gourmet meal prepared for my hubby. He knows that and probably prefers it that way too haha. Being a perfect housewife is such a hard job and I applaud you and all mammas out there. Oh and on a side note: your legs! sorry haha… I only wish mine looked half as good as yours.
